Creating a CD Cover

1. Generate a name for your band by using WikiPedia's random page selector tool, and using the first article title on whichever page pops up. No matter how weird or lame that band name sounds.
2. Generate an album title by cutting and pasting the last four words of the final quote on whichever page appears when you click on the quotationspage's random quote selector tool. No matter what those four words turn out to be.
3. Finally, visit Flickr's Most Interesting page -- a random selection of some of the interesting things discovered on Flickr within the last 7 days -- and download the third picture on that page. (Even better: Click on this link to get a Flickr photo that's licensed under Creative Commons.) Again -- no cheating! You must use the photo, no matter how you feel about it.
4. Using Photoshop (or whatever method you prefer), put all of these elements together and create your very own CD cover, then upload it to the CD memepool
My version:

This cover is almost entirely random, with the only element I got to choose being the text. For this reason, I think the cover lacks any creativity at all - and instead is created by chance. As I could not choose the artist name, album title or image I could not have been creative at all as I did not have to think about any of it.

Creativity Quotes

"A project that is too well planned lacks opportunities for spontaneity andcreativity." Anon

I disagree with this statement to an extent with references to areas of the research and planning. For example, I found that looking at other texts for inspiration helped with creativity greatly - allowing me to draw ideas from a range of different areas which helps to create something different. However, I did find this led to using ideas I had seen before and therefore not all being ideas I have come up with myself meaning it is less creative.

"The making of the new and the re arranging of the old" (Bentley 1997)

I agree with this quote as all new texts are 'the making of the new' and many take inspiration from existing texts.

Creativity

Originality - I think I was original in the way I chose to break some conventions when creating my magazine, such as using a white artist to represent hip-hop.
Imagination - I used my imagination to come up with the name and style of the magazine, and song choice.
Inspiration - I took inspiration from a variety of sources, including magazines, music and film.
Resourcefulness - I used a variety of technologies and resources in order to create my final product.
Vision - I had an idea from the start which I had to refine after creating drafts and mock-ups in order to get the result I wanted.

Things that restricted my creativity potential where mainly budget and equipment. If I had a budget to create the video, it could have been much more creative, using different locations (such as renting studios) and being able to use high quality cameras allowing a range of different shots.
